As written and posted within the Duchy of Corussa and on Embassy grounds within Divinity's Reach.
1) No person is permitted to harm a citizen of Corussa, except in the incident of a sanctioned duel to solve a dispute. This includes assault and murder, but self-defense is permitted.
2) Those who break the peace will be fined. This includes public drunkenness, brawling, and inappropriate public behaviour.
Fine: 10 silver
3) Those who harm another fatally or otherwise will be fined or jailed.
Fine: 10 silver for minor injuries, 30 silver for greater injuries.
1) Theft of property within Corussa will result in jailing of the thief responsible (duration determined by severity of the crime).
2) Stolen property will be returned to its owner, with double its value in coin, and the thief will be fined 10 silver by the duchy.
3) If a stolen object cannot be recovered, the thief will pay the owner four times its value, and be fined 20 silver.
4) If caught in repeated thievery, an individual may be banished from the duchy, with the duration determined by the severity of the crime.
1) For public safety, offensive or experimental magic may not be practiced outside of designated boundaries unless there is provable need.
Fine: 10 Silver for the first offense. 20 for each repeated offense.
2) Elementals may not be summoned in populated places.
Fine: 20 silver.
3) Fire arms, including constructed turrets may not be set up or discharged outside of designated areas. This is precluded by guards or bystanders responding to an emergency.
Fine: 10 Silver for the first offense. 20 for each repeated offense.
4) Practice of necromancy is strictly prohibited on lands controlled by the duchy. We will not tolerate the dessecration of our dead. If you wish to practice your craft, do so outside of our lands.
Fine: 1 Gold for the first offense. Jail or banishment if repeated.
5) Necromancers may not bring bring conjured dead into the duchy's lands. May be pre-empted in case of provable emergency.
Fine: 30 silver
1) Town guards may conscript the aid of citizens in the apprehension of thieves, or in the dire need of defense of the duchy from its enemies.
2) In the event of an emergency, all weapons and magic laws are pre-empted, though necromancy may only be used to raise the corpses of fallen foes. Citizens may act on behalf of the people of the duchy in defense of the territory and its people.
